WBT (Web Based Training) allows you to learn online (learn from home or the office, be it personal or for your company). WBT refers to the fact that the training course material (audio/video, quizzes, test questions, reading material) is
stored on the course provider's server. Bigger installations allow for content to be made available on the clients' server(s).
The use of CBT (Computer Based Training) - using CD-ROMs or DVDs complemented with books/eBook/study guides and practice exams - sometimes complements WBT and both may be refered to as elearning. With elearning, the student accesses the WBT course material via their browser and needs to be online (connected to the internet). WBT courses can be for: Microsoft (MCSE, MCSA ,MCDST, MCDBA, MCAD, MCSD, Office XP, Office 2000, MCPs), Cisco (CCNP, BCRAN, CIT, BSMCN, BSCI, CCNA), Adobe (Photoshop 7.0, Premiere 6.5, After Effects 5.5, Illustrator 10.0, Pagemaker 7.0, LiveMotion, InDesign 2.0, GoLive) Macromedia (Flash MX, Director 8.5, Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks MX), ECDL/ICDL, Sage (Line50, Payroll), and much more.
