The Net+ Examination
Specialized Solutions' Network+ Training Program prepares
the candidate to take and pass the CompTIA certification examination.
The skills and knowledge measured by this examination are
derived from industry-wide job tasks analysis and validated
through an industry-wide survey.
Network+ Fees
Fees vary, depending on which country you reside in, the quantity
of people within your corporation that are getting certified,
and whether you are a Corporate Member of CompTIA or not.
An individual residing in the United States, who is not connected
to a corporation and is a "non-member" can expect to pay $185
at the time of this writing.
Test Format
The certification is administered via computer at a Prometric
or VUE authorized testing center in a user-friendly format.
Directions for using the testing software are displayed on
the screen before the test begins. There are also testing
"proctors" to help you with anything you don't understand
about using the software. Help is also available on-screen.
You can move forward in the test, mark a question for answering
later, or review a previous question. Usually each question
has one correct answer. There may be some that have multiple
correct answers. When such a case exists, a message at the
bottom of the screen asks you to choose "All that apply".
After the Test
You will receive a final score. You can view the results immediately
after finishing the exam - the results show up on the screen.
In addition to this, a printed copy of the score report is
provided by the testing center. The results will show whether
you passed or failed, and also how you did on each section
of the exam and in each area of technology. If you have passed
the examination a certificate will be mailed to your address
within a few weeks.
| This is a snapshot from our Interactive Network+ Certification
CD-ROM. Notice that our instructor, Frank Jewett, is shown
inside the Video Box in the upper left hand side. Video
is a media that really compounds the learning process
because not only are you hearing the material, you are
seeing it as well. Frank's points are emphasized with
Charts, Graphs, and even shots of the computer being taken
apart and examined! On the right side of the screen is
an interactive dictionary that will let you look up definitions
of key words in the presentation. |

to stop, pause, fast forward, or rewind the video at will.
You can skip ahead to other portions of the training CD-ROM
or go back to review as much as you need to. The "Practice
Exams" are available at any time. |
