FAQ
How does the 'ICS Distance Learning Courses (ICS Home Learning)' method work?
To make studying as flexible and convenient as possible, all our courses are divided into bite-sized modules that consist of clearly identified study units or modules. You work through each unit at your own pace. At the end of each unit or module there will be an assessment for you to complete and send to your tutor for marking. Your tutor will return this to you with your mark and any comments.
With all our courses you only move on a new module after successfully completing the previous one - and only when you feel ready. With useful tips and self-assessments at every stage, you'll find your confidence and ability increasing steadily as you progress.
Do I have to complete my course within a set period?
For most of our courses you have three year study and support guarantee which means we will provide you with the materials and assistance you need to complete your course within this period.
Can you tell me what happens once I have ordered my course?
Once a cleared payment has been received, your order is processed and ICS will dispatch the course directly to you.
The student will receive all details required to complete the course with there first shipment. The course will be sent out on a modular basis.
Delivery time is approx. 2 weeks. This is due to the arrangements for student support, student services and tutors that have to be in place.
What support will I receive from ICS?
With ICS Home Learning Courses (Home Learning), studying at home doesn't mean studying alone.
For all our paper-based courses, you will benefit from the support of a Personal Tutor, experienced in helping students in a distance learning situation. Your tutor will mark and comment on your work, providing feedback and encouragement, plus answering any queries you may have.
All students have access to our ICS Student Advisors, who are only a phone call away and can provide you with practical assistance throughout your course. So we really are with you 100%.
Plus, you'll have access to our online Student Community where you can take part in forum discussions, complete surveys and manage your account.
Will I have to sit an examination?
For ICS Diploma courses there is generally no examination - you are assessed on a continuous basis. For other qualifications where an examination required, you will receive all the information you need to make your exam arrangements with your first study shipment. For most courses, exam are held in centres across the UK so you shouldn't have far to travel to sit your exams. Please note exam fees are not included in your course fee.
Can I study from outside the UK?
Yes! All our courses are available to overseas students. If there is an exam with your course, however, in most cases you will be required to come to the UK to take the exam. You may be able to arrange to sit the exam at your local British council for some courses. Further information will be provided with your first study shipment.
What will I receive at the end of my course?
For all courses you will receive an ICS Diploma or a recognised qualification from the awarding body of your course.
