This course is ideal for aspiring Teaching/ Classroom Assistants and those current working in the position keen to gain a recognised qualification.

| Requirements: |
Students must be at least 16 years of age. Note that TA are not normally employed until age 18. If student is not already a TA they should have education to GCSE standard D-G, and NVQ Level 1 or a GNVQ Foundation qualification. Students should also enjoy working with children and respect children from all social and cultural backgrounds, be interested in children's education, be able to build good relationships, be able to work well as part of a team and under supervision, have good literacy and numeracy skills, have a responsible attitude, be patient but firm when necessary and have lots of energy. |

| External Exam Information: |
There is no final exam. However students are required to pass 3 assessments that are marked by ICS tutors and 1 assessment marked by Edexcel. The 3 assessments marked by ICS are also IV'd. 2 copies of each assessment must be submitted.
Students must apply for the final assessment brief using the form in their course pack. There are two opportunities a year to submit the final assessment. They must be submitted by the end of May and the end of Nov. Marks are awarded by Edexcel. Students are sent their certificate by us when we receive it from Edexcel. |
