The programme has 2 broad aims to provide candidates with: 1) The necessary knowledge and understanding of U.K legislation concerning manual handling operations in respect of assisting elderly and/or infirm people to mobilise.
2) The necessary skills and knowledge to carry out manual handling operations safely and effectively in assisting elderly and/or infirm people to mobilise. |

NOTE ON NVQ'S It should be noted that NVQ's are assessed in the workplace and judge competence against national standards. The ASET Awards do not in any way attempt this and therfore , in terms of what they are seeking to assess, cannot be directly compared to NVQ's.
Personal Project - Students need access to an appropriate establishment in order to complete their Personal Project eg a Care Home |

| External Exam Information: |
There is no end exam for this course - continuous assessment. This course includes a test paper, a Knowledge Assessment workbook and Personal Project that you complete as part of your coursework from home.
Students must fill in form in back of 400119X to claim certificate. |
| Additional Exam Fees: |
There is an ASET registration fee of £21.00 which must be paid before the ASET Certificate can be awarded. If students do not pay this they will only be elidgible for an ICS Diploma. There are no exam fees. |
