ICS offer three popular courses designed to suit varying levels of experience- Foundation, Intermediate and Final examinations in Manual Book-keeping.

This second level of the IAB qualification gives a more in-depth knowledge of various procedures such as stock and credit control and introduces you to financial statements. On completion, you can apply to the Association to become a member, which allows you to use the designatory letters MIAB. The course covers the following topics: · The Ledger and Double-entry Book-keeping. · Trial Balance, Errors and Financial Statements · Stock; Credit Control and Accounting Adjustments · Financial Statements of Sole Traders, Partnerships and Clubs |

The survival of all commercial ventures, charitable and public sector agencies depends on tight financial controls. Therefore there will always be demand for individuals with the skills base to ensure these controls are in place.
Solid Book-keeping skills can be invaluable in many roles and career paths, in which case it is difficult to put an exact monetary value on the added earnings potential these skills could offer you. However, a typical salary range for those employed specifically as Book-keepers outside the London area is between £12,000 - £16,000. |

| External Exam Information: |
Exam Centres are offered throughout the UK and in many countries overseas. To confirm if a centre is available in a particular country contact IAB. Exams last 3 hours and take place in June & January with the respective deadlines being 15 April & 15 October (15 March & 15 September for overseas). |

£20 Registration, £20 Annual Subscription & £40 per unit- 2 units - certificate for pass of each unit. IAB qualification when both units passed. |
