· Composing comprehensive travel itineraries for both business and leisure travellers
· Quoting a range of fares from APEX to First Class
· Issuing airline tickets for normal and special fares to IATA standards
· Completing Multi-Purpose Documents (MPD) for Tickets on Departure
· Calculating a multi-sector, one-way or return journey, using the mileage system
· Conversing on a range of travel related supplementary information with respect to BSP accounting methods, agency licensing procedures, consolidated fares and automation within the industry
Careers in the Field: The ICS British Airways Ticketing Courses are ideally suited for anyone pursuing a career within the travel agency structure. However, since this qualification is widely recognised in the industry, it is also relevant to the following jobs: Airline staff, Check in staff at airports, Staff employed in reservation centres, Tour operators, Ticket desk employees, Ground crew, Cabin crew and Hospitality industry workers.

Because this qualification is applicable to so many roles and career paths, it is difficult to place an exact monetary value on the added earnings potential these skills could offer you. However, a typical salary range for those employed specifically as Ticket Agents outside the London area is between £12,000 and £15,000, rising to between £16,00 and £20,000 for those with the right experience

External Exam Information: In order to complete Fares and Ticketing Level I, students must pass a 3 hour, open book exam. Exams take place in March, July and November and the respective deadlines for applications are end Nov for March exams, end March for July, end July for November.
