Intended for non-professional photographers of all ages, giving an introduction to camera and darkroom work. |
| Requirements: |
Basic Photography - · Single lens reflex camera with changeable lenses · 50 mm lens is adequate to complete the course but a short zoom lens (e.g. 35-80mm) and a long zoom (80-200mm) would give better experience. · Student will also require a tripod and cable release for best results. · A flashgun is needed, which can range from part of the camera (minimum), to a separate flashgun (preferred). · Digital cameras can be used as long as it has the above facilities, and has the MINIMUM specification of 3.1 M pixel and 10MB memory Black and White Photography - Students must have completed City and Guilds Basic Photography; Have access to darkroom facilities; Conventional means to process all black and white prints for assignments and portfolio. |

BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY - Portfolio sent to City and Guilds for assessment. Submission to City and Guilds should include: workbook; Portfolio of two sets of six photographs complete with individual self-evaluations; Product complete with self-evaluation. Photographs for the folio should be mounted on suitable materials for viewing. The workbook will include notes demostrating a collection of exercises and image evaluations all relating to the learning outcome. BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY - Final Porfolio for this course to be assessed by City and Guilds. Should include: Portfolio of two sets of six black and white photographs complete with individual self-evaluations. Photographs for the folio should be mounted on suitable materials for viewing. The workbook will include all the completed and assessed assignments plus all negatives produced, plus contact sheets, plus at least one set of test strips from one of the portfolio photographs. |

£35.50 per module (£71.00 in total) must be paid within 4 weeks of enrolment to allow for City and Guilds registration. |
