ASET Level 1 Certificate in Beauty Therapy |
| Summary: |
This is a Level 1 course and offers an entry route into the industry. It provides a detailed insight into the industry and career options within it. The course covers the essentials of health and safety and looks into the knowledge and skills required in 3 key areas: skin care and facials, make-up and manicures and pedicures. |
| Requirements: |
There are no pre-requisites. Students are required to have access to a camera in order to record their practical work. Please advise the student that there are 4 practical assessments (one at the end of each study period) in the form of questionnaires. For example, at the end of the first study period they must visit a beauty salon and interview a senior therapist and conduct a short questionnaire with them. Similar interviews/questionnaires are required at the end of the following study periods. |

| External Exam Information: |
There is no end exam for this course. Students must pass 4 multiple choice test papers and 4 practical assignments. These are contained at the end of each study unit.
Practical assessments are also IV'd. They can therefore take 4 weeks to be returned.
To receive an ASET certificate, students must have paid the registration fee. This is sent out automatically by ICS when we receive it from ASET. |
| Additional Exam Fees: |
There is an ASET registration fee of £21.00 which must be paid before the ASET Certificate can be awarded. If students do not pay this they will only be elidgible for an ICS Diploma. There are no exam fees. |
